Perinatal Counseling for Mothers in Texas and Colorado

You are not alone in this. What you are feeling has a name and it’s more common than anyone tells you about becoming a mother. Depression, anxiety, birth trauma, and the unique disorienting shifts of new motherhood are all treatable with the right support.

About me

Meet Allison

I’m Allison Davis, MS, LPC, PhD a licensed professional counselor. I work exclusively with mothers – through pregnancy, postpartum, loss, birth trauma, and the identity shifts of becoming someone’s mother.

My clinical and research work focuses on what happens to women psychologically during the perinatal period, including the ways that anxiety, depression, and trauma show up differently in mothers than any other population.

I see mothers across Texas and Colorado via secure telehealth. Sessions fit around nap schedules, nursing, and lunch breaks.

How Therapy Works

Therapy That Fits Your Life as a Mother

All sessions happen via secure video from wherever you are in Texas or Colorado. There’s no commute, no childcare to arrange, and no waiting room.

You can attend during naptime, while nursing, or after bedtime. Many mothers keep their camera on with their baby in their arms. We meet on lunch breaks or after kids have gone to sleep. This is therapy designed for the reality of early motherhood with the flexibility you need.

Sessions are 50 minutes. The first step is a free 15-minute call to make sure we’re a good fit.

What I Help With

What Brings Mothers to Therapy

Motherhood changes everything. When that change feels overwhelming, confusing, or nothing like what you expected, you deserve support from someone who specializes in this exact transition.

Postpartum Depression:

The heaviness that won’t lift. Feeling disconnected from your baby or yourself. You’re not failing – you’re adjusting to something enormous.

Postpartum Anxiety:

Racing thoughts that won’t stop. Constant worry about your baby. The inability to rest even when you finally have the chance.

Pregnancy Anxiety:

Fear about your baby’s health, the birth, or becoming a mother. Worry that makes it hard to enjoy pregnancy.

Birth Trauma:

When your birth experience left you shaken, grieving, or haunted by what happened. Flashbacks, nightmares, or avoiding anything that reminds you of it.

Perinatal OCD:

Intrusive, unwanted thoughts about your baby that terrify you. Rituals and checking behaviors that take over your day.

Maternal Climate Anxiety:

Deep worry about what kind of world you’re bringing your child into. Grief, guilt, or fear about the ecological future.

Infertility & IVF

The grief cycle of trying to conceive. The toll of treatment on your body, your relationship, and your sense of self. You don’t have to carry this alone.

Pregnancy Loss

Miscarriage, stillbirth, or loss at any stage. Grief that often goes unacknowledged. Your loss matters, and it deserves support

Pregnancy After Loss

The anxiety of trying again. Holding hope and fear together. This pregnancy deserves its own support.

ADHD & Motherhood

When motherhood breaks the systems that used to work. Executive function collapse, sensory overload, and the shame of struggling. Your brain isn’t the problem.

Coercive Control

Controlling relationships can escalate in the perinatal period in ways that are hard to name and impossible to ignore.

Domestic Violence

Pregnancy and the postpartum period are among the highest risk times for domestic violence to begin or escalate.
